Is there a height restriction for climbing?
Climbers must be 90cm or taller to participate in our standard Climbing World sessions.
Is there a weight restriction for climbing?
For safety reasons, all climbers must be more than 11.5kg and under 120kg.
What time do climbing sessions start and what’s included?
Sessions start on the hour your ticket starts with a 15 minute safety briefing. You will then be given a full hour in our climbing arena.
Example timeline based on booking a 10am session:
9:55am Head to briefing area - PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY!
10:00am Safety briefing and harnessing
10:15am Enter climbing arena and spend 1 hour climbing
11:15am Exit climbing arena
What happens if we are running late?
If you are able to get into the Climbing Arena while the team are still doing the Safety Briefing, we can usually get your little one's in and part of the session. If you have missed the Safety Briefing, you will need to wait until the next available session.
Please speak to one of the staff on the day and they will let you know what options are available to you.
Is climbing safe?
Yes! Funtopia Prospect has one of the world’s most innovative, advanced and safest climbing arenas. Check out our safety features here.
What should I wear?
In order to be able to climb with us, you MUST:
- be wearing closed-toed shoes. You will not be allowed on the walls if you don't have the right shoes.
- be 90cm or taller. It is the responsibility of the parents to inform Funtopia of the age of their child truthfully if and when asked.
We recommend wearing pants or shorts. Dresses and skirts can sometimes be uncomfortable or inappropriate for the child to wear a harness with so please keep this in mind when dressing your little one.
Can adults climb too?
Yes, climbing isn’t just for kids! We love seeing adults joining in the fun! We have a range of walls to suit all levels.
Can I help my kids if I don't want to climb?
Unless the adult(s) have paid to enter the climbing arena and participate in the climbing session, unfortunately there is to be no adult spectators within the arena.
Our team are all trained to support and encourage your kids to push their limits. We are not here to do it for them. We teach and facilitate the skills needed to do this on their own with our guidance and assistance, so please be patient as your child goes through the motions of learning to do this themselves.
What happens if my little one is too scared to climb?
It happens. It can sometimes be scary for little people to try climbing big things and that's okay, we are here to support you and help you to feel safe enough to give it a red hot go. As mentioned above, our team are all trained to support, help and assist your kids to give them the tools needed for them to have a fun and enjoyable climbing session.
If they absolutely refuse to climb and you want to remove them from the climbing session, you acknowledge that in doing so, you are forfeiting the remainder of the session. At the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager, we often will let the kids go and play in the playground instead, however this isn't always possible depending on capacity and timing so always speak to one of our amazing team members and we will do our best to look after you.
